LAST week, the Chief of the Naval Staff of the Pakistan Navy, Admiral Zafar Mahmood Abbasi met the Commander Combined Task Force (CTF) 150, Commodore Darren Garnier of the Royal Canadian Navy. The two leaders discussed Pakistan’s future Command of CTF 150, which is responsible for maritime security in the Middle East.

Pakistan will take command of the Task Force from April this year for the normal period of four months. They were last in command from Aug to Dec 17 when they proved extremely successful, bringing an invaluable skill set of professionalism and local knowledge. This will be their eleventh time in Command of a Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), CTF. Pakistan is an active and valued member of CMF currently providing staff in the coalition’s Headquarters.

Additionally, Admiral Abbasi, met Commander CMF, Vice Admiral James Malloy and the two Admirals discussed and looked forward to Pakistan’s leadership of CMF’s Combined Task Force (CTF) 150.
