Shoreham, a Sandown class mine hunter, frequently works in support of CTF 152 within the Gulf, providing vital situational awareness by keeping track of the numbers and movement of vessels within the area and keeping an eye out for suspicious behavior; this all aids in keeping the fishing and merchant communities safe at sea.

During a tour of the vessel alongside UKNSF, Capt Alfodary and his staff were given briefs on aspects of navigation, mine clearance and diving operations, furthering understanding of how Shoreham can assist CTF152 in achieving her mission within the Gulf. Capt Alfodhary said after the visit:
“It has been a great pleasure to meet with the captain and crew of HMS Shoreham today, reinforcing the essential relationship between the Royal Navy and CTF 152 in achieving our mission of a safe and prosperous Gulf.’
