From Combined Maritime Forces Public Affairs

On March 25th, Vice Admiral Saito, Commander-in-Chief of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Fleet, and Rear Admiral Antonio Braz (Brazilian Navy), Commander of Combined Task Force (CTF) 151, met in Bahrain.

As maritime security remains a paramount concern in the region, the collaboration between CTF 151 and the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) was deemed crucial in enhancing operational effectiveness and promoting stability in the maritime domain.

During the meeting, discussions revolved around the challenges faced by CTF 151 within its area of responsibility, which encompasses critical waterways prone to piracy and other maritime threats. The exchange of insights between the two commands aimed to foster a deeper understanding of these challenges.

The involvement of JMSDF ships have been essential in supporting CTF 151’s mission, underscoring Japan’s commitment to regional security and its proactive role in multinational maritime efforts.

Moreover, beyond addressing immediate operational concerns, the meeting reinforced the partnership and reaffirmed the excellent relationship between CTF 151 and the JMSDF.
