Commander of the Combined Task Force 151 meets with the Ambassador of Japan to Bahrain

Manama, Bahrain – On February 5, 2024, Rear Admiral Antonio Braz, Commander of the Combined Task Force 151 (CTF 151), and Her Excellency Ms. Okai Asako, Ambassador of Japan to Bahrain, met at the Japanese Embassy in Bahrain. The meeting addressed various crucial aspects related to the collaboration between Japan and CTF 151.

Rear Admiral Braz expressed his appreciation for the dedicated efforts and services provided by Japan Self Defense Forces (JSDF) personnel in supporting CTF 151’s mission since 2009. The discussion covered the multifaceted tasks undertaken by CTF 151, emphasizing the challenges of leading a combined task force involving personnel from 10 different countries.

Ambassador Okai expressed her gratitude for Brazil’s commitment to leading the task force and highlighted the importance of collaboration between nations to combat maritime threats.

This meeting serves as a testament to the strong partnership and cooperation between Japan and CTF 151, reaffirming the collective dedication to ensuring freedom of navigation and safeguarding the seas against emerging threats.

This ANZAC Day, members of Combined Maritime Forces gathered for a memorial service at dawn to pay tribute to the fallen.

Captain Gacusan joined the 🇵🇭 Philippine Navy and graduated from the Philippine Military Academy in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree of science in Management. An accomplished Surface Warfare Officer with a strong background in naval operations, he has held numerous commands. This includes the Commanding Officer of the Patrol Gunboat 396, 3rd Boat Attack Division, Littoral Combat Force and Joint Task Force Tawi-Tawi, to name a handful of Capt. Gacusan’s appointments.
