Counter-Piracy Commanders Meet in the Gulf of Aden

Rear Admiral Ayhan Bay, Commander Combined Task Force (CCTF) 151 met with Captain Takeshi Yoshioka, Commander of the Third Escort Division of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force in the Gulf of Aden on-board the TCG Gemlik.

Rear Admiral Ayhan Bay, CCTF 151 met with Captain Takeshi Yoshioka, Commander of the Third Escort Division of the Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force.

During the visit staff members from JS Suzunami met up with their counterparts on the TCG Gemlik to discuss counter-piracy. Rear Admiral Bay said: “We are operating in this part of the world in order to secure the maritime environment and help contribute to the stability and prosperity of the region.”
