Turkish Navy RAdm Rüştü SEZER, commander of Combined Task Force (CTF) 151, visited with Omani authorities as part of the task force’s regional engagement plan to strengthen relationships and continue the ongoing cooperation between Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) and Sultanate of Oman, Nov. 25.
SEZER met with VAdm.Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah Al Raisi, Chief of Staff for the Sultan’s Armed Forces, to discuss the importance of information and experience sharing while enhancing relations between Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) and Oman.
SEZER also met with the commander of the Royal Navy of Oman RAdm Saif bin Nassir Al Rahbi, Deputy of Oman Maritime Security Centre Captain Ahmed Jumah Alkhatri, and commander of Royal Oman Police Coast Guard Colonel Abdulaziz Mohammed Al-Jabri.

“The visit was fruitful and enabled us to strengthen the relations for further coordination with regional partners and the maritime community”, SEZER said.
The key leader engagements allowed CMF and Omani authorities to discuss improving regional security and stability, the importance of sharing information in order to maintain a good coordination in the AOO, maritime security enhancement training activities, and the importance of the ROP CG as a maritime stakeholder that contributes to regional maritime security.
CTF 151 is one of the five task forces under CMF, the world’s largest international naval partnership. CTF 151’s mission is to deter, disrupt and suppress piracy in the maritime environment.
Combined Maritime Forces is a 46-nation naval partnership upholding the international rules-based order by promoting security and stability across 3.2 million square miles of water encompassing some of the world’s most important shipping lanes.
