Pakistan Navy Ship Zulfiquar, operating under Combined Task
Force (CTF) 150 of the Combined Maritime Forces (CMF), conducted a passing
exercise with the Republic of Korea Navy Ship WANG GEON, operating under CTF
151, in the North Arabian Sea.
The exercise featured tactical maneuvers and communication drills that enhanced
operational interoperability and fostered professional connections between the two
navies. CTF 150 and 151 focus on deterring illicit maritime activities, such as drug
trafficking and piracy, that threaten security within the international waters. The
successful conduct of this joint exercise between PNS Zulfiquar and ROKS Wang Geon
underscores the commitment of both navies, as well as their respective Task Forces, to
uphold maritime security and support lawful activities at sea, fostering stability and
cooperation in this strategically vital region.

Commodore Asim Sohail Malik, Commander of Pakistan-led CTF 150, highlighted the
significance of this engagement, saying, “This exercise with the Republic of Korea Navy
marks an important milestone in building stronger international maritime partnerships.
Enhancing our cooperation and interoperability, we demonstrate a united commitment to
preserve maritime security and deter unlawful activities in international waters.”
Commander, CTF 151, Turkish Navy Rear Admiral Rustu Sezer, said, “Collaborating
with CTF 150 enhances our collective resolve for regional maritime security, by aligning
our efforts. We strengthen our ability to deter illicit activities and respond swiftly to
emerging threats. This cooperation directly contributes to a safer maritime environment,
reinforcing stability across vital sea lanes and ensuring secure passage for all.”
Pakistan and the Republic of Korea consistently contribute ships and aircraft for
maritime security under the CMF banner. This collaboration is especially valuable for
building mutual understanding and operational synergy.
