Sep 13 saw the Commander of the Philippine-led Combined Task Force (CTF) 151, Capt Mateo Carido, visit the Omani maritime forces to discuss enhancing cooperation and coordination.
Both Rear Adm. Saif bin Nasser Al Rahbi, Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman (RNO) and Staff Brigadier (Engineer), Ali Saif Al Maqbali, Commandant of the Royal Oman Police Coast Guard welcomed Carido.

Discussing international partnerships and close cooperation between multi-national task forces and regional partners is vital in enhancing the coordination of saving lives at sea as well as maintaining the free flow of maritime commerce through the region.
Carido extended his gratitude to the Omani leadership for the support they had given CTF151 in key areas of operations and expressed the view that this continued well into the future.
The Sultanate of Oman has been a regional partner of CMF since 2018, aligned with a common purpose to conduct Maritime Security Operations (MSO) in order to provide security and stability in the maritime environment. It also provides great assistance to CMF member’s assets through the use of ports and air bases.
