Commodore Asif Khaliq, Pakistan Navy, who is currently the Commander of Combined Task Force (CTF) 150, recently met the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander in Chief, His Excellency Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa in his office at the BDF Headquarters.
Commodore Khaliq thanked the Commander in Chief in honouring him with an invitation to see him in person. He informed him about his new assignment as Commander of CTF150 and shared his views about the dynamics of the Combined Maritime Forces’ area of operations.
He further expressed that the Combined Maritime Forces, a 29 nations partnership, has always helped to strengthen further the relationships amongst participating nations and he hoped that Pakistan-Bahrain relations would continue to grow and flourish during his tenure.
The Commander in Chief congratulated Commodore Khaliq on his new position as Commander of CTF 150 and praised the good relations between the two countries, citing the increase in bilateral cooperation and specifically in the Defence environment.
The Commander in Chief also wished him success as Commander of CTF 150 and hoped that this would enhance the maritime peace in the region.
A wide range of topics, including Pakistan and Bahrain relations, roles and responsibilities of CTF150; mutual training and joint exercise opportunities; and capacity building; were also discussed during the meeting.
